Magnetism is the force exerted by magnets when they attract or repel each other. Magnetism is caused by the motion of electric charges. Every substance is made up of tiny units called atoms. Each atom has electrons, particles that carry electric charges.

 Magnetism is the phenomenon associated with magnetic fields, which arise from the motion of electric charges. This motion can take many forms. It can be an electric current in a conductor or charged particles moving through space, or it can be the motion of an electron in an atomic orbital.

  The p-block is on the right side of the standard periodic table and encompasses elements in groups 13 to 18. Their general electronic configuration is   n s 2   n p 1–6 .   Helium , though being the first element in group 18, is not included in the p-block.
